How to Nurture Your Child's Success

We all want to encourage our children, support them, and participate in their activities. Whether it is helping coach their soccer team, building a science project together, or learning a new dance, we do our best to fuel their passions. We will do almost anything to help them succeed.

Here at M1ND 6YM, we believe that creativity, problem-solving, and thinking outside the box are the building blocks for confidence. Confidence is the first step toward achieving your dreams. We focus on this for everything we create and make it fun and engaging for adults and their children to experience together.

Keeping that in mind, we have some simple advice to help you continue your most important job of helping our future generation realize their dreams.

Take a Moment

We all live busy lives and are easily distracted by our screens. However, we must remind ourselves to stop for a moment and focus on what can be. Take a little time to ask your child what their goals are. Find out what is important to them. Be sure to write it down, make a list, and post it somewhere that is visible.

Refer back to it from time to time and make changes and updates as needed. Ask them what they are doing or plan to do to achieve their goals. This will show them that you care about and support their path to success.

Create a Vision Board

A vision board is a great tool to keep your dreams in focus each day. You start by asking your child to imagine their life having everything they want. Then have them find photos of those items in some old magazines or online.

Once you have enough photos cut out or printed, you paste them to a poster board and hang it somewhere they can see it every day. This can be a fun little project and shows them how you can participate in helping them reach their goals.

Support and Participate

Showing your support is the most important step to encouraging your child's success. Being there for them and letting them know that you care is necessary for them to excel. Think of how excited and proud they feel when you show up for their soccer match or tell them how awesome their fort design is. Now think about how disappointed they are when you don't. How might that discourage and impact them? We all want to feel validated and encouraged.

Even better is to participate. What if you helped coach the soccer team? Or helped build and design the fort? Imagine the impression on your child. They would surely know that you are there for them and willing to be part of their dreams.

One of the best parts about being a parent is seeing your children thrive and learn. Although their success ultimately depends on them, your encouragement, support, and participation will give them the confidence to achieve. We all live busy and distracting lives. Don't forget to take some time to focus on goals and dreams. The more you do so, the better the chances are of reaching them.
